The Thermo Scientific Maxi Mix II Vortex Mixer is excellent for mixing media in test tubes, mixing cytogenetic suspensions in centrifuge tubes, vortexing cell suspensions and vortexing drug extractions. It is also effective for enzymatic and RIA assays, atomic absorption sample preparation and Nelson’s assay for reducing sugars.
Two mixing surfaces are included: a single-cup tube holder and a 3.5" (8.9 cm) diameter foam pad for mixing flasks or multiple tubes simultaneously. Foam rubber pad permits mixing 1 to 4 test tubes simultaneously and is excellent for mixing contents of small flasks with closed tops.
Heavy-duty cast metal base and suction cup feet ensure stability and prevent "walking."? Two mixing modes provide flexiblity. Continuous mixing mode is great for mixing a quantity of tubes or flasks in sequence. Intermittent mode is activated when you touch the foam pad or cup attachment with a test tube.
