The dressing maintains a moist wound environment for optimal wound healing. The Safetac* properties allows the dressing to be changed without causing additional pain to the patient or trauma to the wound or surrounding skin. Design:Mepilex Border is made of an absorbent pad of polyurethane foam and superabsorbent polyacrylate fibres, a soft silicone wound contact layer and an outer film which is vapour permeable and waterproof.
